A schoolboy with hemophilia is held in the Estonian prison for his Russian connections
The 18 years old schoolboy Mark Siryk is left under arrest by the resolution of Kharyusskiy county court. Resolution of the district court, which ratified the resolution of the Kharyuskiy district court, is final and may not be appealed, informs the “Rosbalt” reporter.
Mark Siryk was detained by the Estonian security police in the morning of the 27th of April on his way to a school exam. According to the information from the Estonian public prosecutor office, the schoolboy is charged with organization of mass disorders on the 26th of April, when in Tallinn there emerged a street conflict between the police and the Russian-speaking youth, who protested against the relocation of the Bronze soldier. As the result of the cruel actions of the Estonian police against the demonstrates in Tallinn there were mass disorders in Tallinn, which caused the death of a Russian citizen Dmitriy Ganin.
With the same charges of organization of mass disorders, there had been arrested members of the public organization “Night watch” Dmitriy Linter, Max Reva and member of the youth organization SiiN Mark Siryk. He is accused of being the commissar of the Russian movement “Nashi”. By the court ruling, Linter, Reva and Siryk are to remain under arrest for the term of investigation – up to six months. Their charges are the organization of mass disorders and activity against the Estonian state.
Advocate of Siryk, Vladimir Sadekov informed the web portal Delfi, that he demanded the schoolboy to be released, since “his political views do not contradict those of the Estonian Republic”. Besides that, Siryk is sick with a dangerous chronic disease (hemophilia) and is allergic, and therefore his further stay under arrest may cause serious damage to his health.
However, the court took no notice of the state of health of the schoolboy and agreed with affirmation of the public prosecutor’s office, that investigation uncovered close relations of Siryk with Russia, and therefore he may escape justice if released, states the Postimees newspaper.
Secretary of the Estonian Antifascist Committee Andrey Zarenkov informed that he spoke with the mothers of the two of the arrested young people. As affirmed the mother of Mark Syryk, the son told her during the visit that he isn’t even aware of the charges against him. Besides that he asked of the situation in Tallinn – for he was arrested early in the morning, on his way to school. The advocate asked the investigator to allow Mark render the graduation exam and bring him to the school for that, but the policemen answered that they had no men available to take the convicts to exams.
The Estonian Antifascists know a lot less about Dmitriy Linter. A week ago his relatives obtained a permission for the visit of an orthodox priest for him. Right after this meeting, the press published appeal of the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church to the government of Estonia, asking them to investigate thoroughly all cases of unlawful actions and violence of any form against the arrested and all the injured citizens of Estonia. After this appeal, Linter was removed from the prison in Tallinn and the police investigators forbade the priest to visit the arrested.
The fate of Maxim Reva is absolutely unknown.
In spite of the massive pressure of the Estonian political and law enforcement agencies, Estonian human rights activists and antifascists keep gathering the materials about the unlawful actions of the Estonian authorities and massive violations of the human rights. In the Information center for human rights there was organized a “hotline” for the victims of the authorities and indecent actions of the police.
By the statement of Vadim Poleschuk, specialist of the center, during the two weeks starting on the 30th of April, 43 people made use of the “hotline”. All of them received primary legal assistance. 33 people presented written statements. The majority of claims are about the beating on behalf of the law enforcement officers during the arrest and custody in the arrest house and places of temporary custody. People bring medical proof of their words, which witness hematomas form the stick blows, broken arms and ribs, one of the cases was even about a fractured skull. There also had been complaints from 3 people, whose photographs appeared in the police website, made for identification of marauders and violators of the public order. These people state their non-participation in delinquent actions of any sort and claim discrimination on behalf of the co-workers and employers. 8 statements referred to people still under arrest.
By the words of the lawyer of the “hotline” Mstislav Rusakov, the statements give basis for the preliminary conclusion that in April 26-27, violations of the criminal-procedural legislation on behalf of the law enforcement agencies were massive.
